Weekly Log
Monday
- The day felt weirdly manageable. Too easy.
- I'm just relaxing now and reading Chirault. Its a sci-fantasy action/adventure comic. I really love the unique setting, very far from you usual Disney Europe fair. I also like the characters. Most are competent adults, although the two main viewpoint characters, Kiran and Teeko, are younger but still capable. I really love how romance isn't really involved, there are many other kinds of relationships. Also the art style is gorgeous, especially around the halfway point. The only sticking point is that the beginning is a bit rough around the edges art wise, and that the text is hard to read. But it gets better.
Tuesday
- I finished Chirault and its such an amazing story with a pretty good ending.
- Now I'm onto Wychwood, another webcomic series by the same creator. It seems to be ongoing. Another unusual setting and seems to have a midsize case with a focus on a small core group. Very similar to Chirault and I'm pretty excited already.
- After work I watched a movie Gods of the Deeps. It wasn't good, but it was fast paced and entertaining. That said, there is flashing lights and siren noises for the later half of the movie that gave me a small headache. Its currently on tubi.
- My partner and I had interesting conversation on mental monologues. I realized that mine basically went away in terms of word/voice narration after I started taking anxiety meds (as a lot of my background thoughts were not pleasant). I can do it, but its not as natural. But my mental health has improved so its for the best. That said, I still have thoughts via feelings, moving images, sound, etc. My partner can't visualize or hear things, but can 'grid' in his brain (he is a math genius).

Thursday
- I hate how everything is a newsletter nowadays. If there is too much crap in my inbox, I don't bother. But I also want to read the newsletter?
- Riffing off of Tai's Blog Post - Sad Stories of Asian People (linked below), this post hit. Its about the fixation of the mainstream UW publishing industry on 'sad Asian stories'. She finds it frustrating as a homeland Asian. I find it frustrating as a Western (US) Asian. For a long time I didn't read stuff by Asian authors as I just expected it to be sad porn. I have a few authors that I like now (not just sad porn), but I guess I could always use more. We could seriously use a greater variety of stories.
- I miss hummus (blog post below). I miss a lot of things I gave up when I temporarily gave up when my stomach rebelled in January. However things are smoother there, so maybe I will try so again this weekend.
- Partner got sick, he's sweating and sleeping. Hopefully its nothing too bad.

Friday
- I've been watching a lot of thru hiking and bike hiking content on youtube. I'll link to the stuff I really like, but its all been mostly fine. That said its inspired me to want to thru hike too with my partner who also wants to. That said we both have to get in shape. I'm starting with stretches and trying to get out there to do daywalks/weekend walks. But my partner is slammed with tax season so gotta wait for the super outdoors stuff after April 15.
- I started up a digital Bullet Journal in Obsidian. I actually also type these logs into Obsidian first, then paste into Bear Blog when I'm done. So far there aren't too many dates, and I am slowly tracking my food and 'workouts' (stretching right now).
- I'm wondering if I should break down the week log style and just do daily diary entries. These entries are getting longer than I intended. I kind of thought I would just have a few sentences, but I guess I have a lot of nothing to get out.
- I am really enjoying DQM: The Dark Prince. I played the DQM for gameboy color when I was a kid and its stuck with me ever since. This newer game is both nostalgic, but lots of improvements. Its really fun to catch and raise monsters, to then see what new monsters you can breed. Plot and character wise, its super silly right now.
